If you've been following our journey for any period of time, you've probably noticed that we are pretty big fans of our home state of Arizona. We even have a whole collection of desert-inspired colorways! Growing up in Arizona, every student learns about the "Five Cs": Copper, Cattle, Cotton, Citrus, and Climate, and for years I've thought these would make wonderful themes for knitting and crochet patterns!
I'm sure you're familiar with Phoenix’s hot summers, but it might surprise you that even outside of Northern Arizona it gets pretty cold! (It even snowed a little in some parts of Phoenix last week!) We want to bust some of these weather-related stereotypes, so we are looking for design submissions that celebrate the 5 Cs in various ways that will work for every time of year-- from cold weather garments to summertime accessories that knitters and crocheters everywhere will be able to make and enjoy.
This collection will be published in the Fall/Winter of 2021 in both digital and physical formats.
All of our yarn bases and colorways are available for you to choose from.
Submission Call: February 1st-March 15th, 2021
Notification: All submissions will be responded to by March 31st
Tentative Release Date: Fall/Winter 2021
We believe in fair and generous compensation for the hard work, talent, and creativity that goes into designing a pattern. Designers will retain all copyrights to their respective designs, and will have full distribution rights after a 4-month exclusivity period. We will also provide yarn support, tech editing, and professional photography to highlight your design in the best way possible.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion and want to encourage designers of all experience levels and backgrounds to submit ideas. We understand and appreciate that the land that is now Arizona has been home to Indigenous Peoples since long before statehood, and we want the designers involved in this collection to reflect the diversity of the populations in the modern American Southwest as much as the designs themselves reflect the beauty in our diverse landscapes.
